Rev. Peck comes to us from Christ Episcopal Church Dearborn where she served as Curate since her ordination in 2012. She is licensed both as a Social Worker and as a Marriage and Family Therapist. In addition to her work as a Curate she also worked part time for Senior Counseling Services providing in-home therapy to older adults coping with grief, losses and life changes. She served as executive director for over twenty years in the non-profit arena including Boys and Girls Republic in Farmington Hills. Maryjane had worked in Child Welfare for most of her social work career; seventeen years with the Michigan Department of Social Services including day care licensing, foster care, protective services, delinquency services, and residential services for youth. For seven years she trained state, county and private agency child welfare workers and presented workshops on the state and national levels. She and her deceased husband were licensed foster parents for over eight years and adopted three children who now are adults.
Maryjane obtained her bachelor's degree from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, a master's degree in Social Work from Wayne State University, and a master's in Divinity from the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit in 2012. She completed a four year program, "Sacred Arts and Training," with Lynn Andrews in California in 1999. She completed a two year Spiritual Director Internship Program at the Dominican Center for Religious Development in Detroit in 2011. She recently completed Lombard Peace Center Trainings in Healthy Congregations, Conflict Transformation Skills for Churches, Mediation Skills Training and Clergy Clinic in Family Emotional Process. Maryjane received interim training through the Interim Ministry Network. She is also trained as a spiritual director and labyrinth facilitator.

Dr. Edward Maki-Schramm brings a boundless energy and many talents to Christ Church, when he joins us on February 1st as Director of Music. He received his Bachelor of Music in organ performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in organ performance from the University of Michigan. He comes to us after 16 years as Director of Music at Central United Methodist Church, and various music staff positions in Episcopal, Lutheran and Baptist churches. He is the director of the Community Chorus of Detroit, a post he has held since 2012. In addition, he is a Senior Major Gift Officer at Wayne State University. His accomplishments as a performer and conductor span the globe! Please extend a warm welcome to Ed, as we begin a new chapter in the musical history of Christ Church.

Dawn has been at Christ Church since 2009; she has many years of business experience in the private sector. She plays a central role in the administration and financial areas of the parish.

Barry has filled the part time Facilities Manager position since 2012. He feels honored to be a part of this warm, welcoming and diverse Church family and to have been entrusted with managing the maintenance of this historic jewel. He is father to two adult children and grandfather to five; his wife Sue brought Barry to Christ Church Detroit.
He studied business administration and accounting in college and holds licenses as a master electrician, electrical contractor and building contractor. In addition he has over ten years’ experience in construction management, all of which assists with developing long and short term maintenance planning. His twelve years as a police officer, with specialized safety & security training also helps to assure a safe and secure environment for our members and our facilities.
