Christ Church Detroit has an excellent children and young peoples Sunday School program led by a dedicated team of church volunteers. We invite you to enroll your child in the appropriate class and take advantage of this great program. Classes meet in the Lower Level at 9:30 a.m. The Worship Center (ages 3-7) meets at 10:30 a.m. and brings the children into the main service at the Offertory for communion with their parents.

Teach our youngest children about God and His love for all people. Children will engage in stimulating, interactive fun. Dancing, singing, and using colorful visuals will bring the stories of Jesus to life for them. Two shifts during Sunday School and church service.

Using the FaithWeaver Sunday School curriculum that weaves love and learning together with Christ, Sunday School, Church worship, community, family life and daily living into continual Christian growth. Children will learn to have faith on their own.

We are using the Episcopal Children Curriculum for our youth to re-energize and get a different experience. It incorporates and highlights Episcopal customs and practices, and it pays attention to the major feast days. The format is; the Gathering which is comprised of community building, hospitality and a welcome ; Introducing the Story is the heart of the session engaging youth's interest in the story through telling and discovering including, participation in an on-going project, and the Going Forth marks end of time teacher's and youth spend together, unhurried and reverent in tone.

The Worship Center

10:30a.m. - 11:15a.m. Worship Center , Children ages 3-7yrs old
Worship Center is a special worship experience for young children. It calls for a structured time based on the order of worship found in our church--Assemble in God's Name, Proclaim God's Word, Give Thanks, Go in God's Name. There will be opportunity for the children to respond through art materials, re-telling the story to others, or working with the story materials. Teacher and children join the service for communion in a special procession marked by the playing of a selected song.

The Journey to Adulthood is a program of spiritual formation for young people.
It falls into three distinct phases:
Rite 13 - 6th to 8th grades
J2A - 8th to 10th grades
YAC - 11th & 12th grades

Bible Study occurs twice a week; on Sundays it is lead by two physicians, both of whom have graduate theological education and have made this an important and welcome ministry. On Tuesdays there is a group that meets at 1:30 pm to discuss the Revised Common Lectionary readings for the coming week. Some come early for 12:10 Eucharist and bring a lunch.

Adult Forums are offered on Sundays from time to time throughout the year. We are currently educating ourselves on the Millennium Development Goals and have a number of forums scheduled throughout the program year.

Sacramental Instruction for baptism, confirmation and marriage is required by the canons and offered by the clergy whenever the need arises.
